Kimmi, I’ve been reading When Things Fall Apart this past week, too. (Incidentally, I think Pema is pronounced with a soft “e” — my friend’s baby is named Pema and that’s how she pronounces it. Although, maybe she’s wrong, I don’t know.) I like to think of leaning into the sharp points, of finding a way to relate to and feel and experience your emotions that is neither grasping (usually at pleasant feelings) nor rejecting (usually unpleasant feelings). And thanks for talking about your cleanse further, too.

  2. Kimmi, I admire you so much for the way that you are constantly reaching for your best, highest, most compassionate self. The way you embrace change and growth is really astounding and beautiful. Whatever form it comes in, whether a cleanse, a new book you’re reading, a physical movement, you give yourself wholly to it, and I want to articulate that that is a rare and beautiful quality.

  3. Thanks, Emily, for the pronunciation tip. I like the flip side… to not grasp and try to hold onto to the good feelings either. Good point!

Thanks, Jennifer!!!! You are such a love. Thank you for mirroring me and celebrating me, always! Can’t wait to connect. xo

nice! seeing this, i can feel your sense of revelation and the awesome relief surrounding it. pema chodron is my hero.

to butcher a famous quote from zen master suzuki roshi: “if you look your delusion right in the eye, it will run and hide. it can’t stay, it’s too embarassed!!”

in other words, it’s our fear of resting with our inner calamity, negativity (or however you wanna put it), that keeps us ruled by it. isn’t it such a relief to find out there’s an easier way?!

i am super happy you are finding this for yourself and seeing it directly. awesome awesome awesome. i pray that you will keep your sharp sense of honesty and degree of earnestness forever.

  5. thanks, ralph! what an amazing comment, so thoughtful, helpful and supportive! thank you for appreciating me. i can’t wait to meet you one day for meditation!
