You aren’t alone. My favorite Manhattan rain experience… A hot weekday afternoon. Full on thunderstorm, downpour. Lost flip flops floating down Madison Avenue. Men in business suits soaked to the bone. Me laughing in the middle of it. People walking slowly, because there really was no reason to run, no escaping it. A total giving in and releasing. So maybe in that way, it’s like sex. ;) Thanks, Kimmi. Loved the visual and sound of rain against your duck-handle pink umbrella.

  2. Thank you, Molly! I love not being alone! And I love that scene! I got caught in a summer downpour two years ago and was soaked to the bone! It was awesome! I fucking love rain! I love lightning and thunder and wetness! I love how storms take you! No escaping, as you said. Glad you liked the visual. It was too beautiful not to capture!

As a full time Harley guy and a friend of Crucial Minutiae I figured I could answer your question. Yes sometime it feels like having sex with nature but sometimes it feels like nature is having sex with me. Rough, angry makeup sex. Sometimes I just wanna cuddle with nature but no.. nature would rather grunt and sweat and then go watch Predator on cable. Then I lie awake wondering if I have chosen the wrong nature.

Dont get me wrong.. I LOVE my nature! She is good to me most of the time. Sometimes on a warm summer day I can feel her kissing me as the wind cools me and runs its fingers through my hair. The smell of flowers and that thick earthy nature smell.. Man.. you cant beat it. In the winter when the air is crisp and that winter smell is everywhere I truly feel connected. I love her and she loves me. Riding late on a summer night when there are no cars around, and the only sound is my pipes.. may very well be the closest thing to making love that nature and I can do together. It’s unlike any feeling anywhere in the world.

    We are connected.

So yes.. You are right…there is a definite connection with Nature when I ride and it is very similar to the way you felt in the rain. Unfortunately.. like any great relationship there comes a time when the two sides just do not understand each others needs. That’s just the way it is and I wouldn’t trade it for a million bucks!!

A million five and we can talk! :)

  5. Dave! This is beautiful! I didn’t think I’d get a response from a real, genuine Harley guy! How cool! Thank you for taking me on a ride with you through your description! Here’s to a million dollar love affair!

I’m tellin ya! If you ever the get the chance to try it out for really reals I highly recommend it. You wont regret it. Unless Nature pees on you. Then you probably will :(
